Our commitment
The Malaysia Co-operative Institute (IKMa) is committed to making this portal usable by everyone, including people with disabilities and those who rely on assistive technology. We aim to meet the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.
Conformance status
This portal is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that most of the content meets the standard, but some items have not yet been fully verified. Those items are listed below.
Accessibility features on this portal
The Accessibility button on every page opens a settings panel that lets you adjust the display to suit you:
- Text size — from 90% to 200%
- Colour and contrast — high contrast, dark contrast, inverted colours, monochrome, low saturation and high saturation
- Reading aids — highlight links, highlight headings, text spacing, dyslexia-friendly font, large cursor, stop animation and reading mode
Your settings are stored in your browser and restored automatically on the next page. Use Reset all to return to the default display.
The portal also provides a skip link to the main content, full keyboard navigation, a meaningful heading structure, alternative text for images, and a layout that works at 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling.
Compatibility
This portal is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, together with the NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack screen readers. It may not work fully on browsers more than three years old.
Technical specifications
Accessibility of this portal relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript. With JavaScript disabled the main content and navigation remain usable, but the accessibility settings panel is not shown.
Known limitations
We state the following openly:
- Manual verification is incomplete. Testing so far has used automated tooling, which detects only a subset of WCAG criteria. A full pass with real screen readers has not yet been carried out.
- No independent audit. The assessment to date is a self-assessment.
- Administrator interface. Some links in the Joomla administrator interface do not yet meet the minimum target size (SC 2.5.8). This does not affect public visitors.
- The dyslexia-friendly font depends on the fonts already installed on your device, so results vary between devices.
- PDF documents uploaded before the date of this statement may not yet fully meet document accessibility standards.
Assessment approach
The portal was assessed internally by the development team using the axe-core automated tool against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA criteria, supported by contrast ratios measured directly from rendered pixels. The most recent check was carried out on 3 August 2026.
